“Every child NEEDS this set. I ordered this at a party when my daughter was 3 1/2 years old, and I gave her the first book as a Christmas gift. I had already tried other beginner reading books, and they were still too overwhelming and difficult. The first book was easy enough for her to build confidence in her ability to read, and she loved doing the comprehension activities at the end of the story. After two weeks, she was ready to move on to the second book! Once she was ready for book 7, her reading ability really took off!”

I am using Usborne Very First Reading Set with my 5 year old and we both love the program! I wish I would have had this set with my older two boys who struggled and it was a fight every time we tried to practice reading. By reading the book together, with our own parts, my son has gained confidence and is easily encouraged to keep trying, sounding out letters, and learning to read!
It is absolutely wonderful to see him practicing reading and trying out new sounds with all the struggle that learning to read can be. It’s the only reading kit you’ll need to teach your children to form the letter sounds they know, into words!
